Dauphin Island Park & Beach Board

Stewardship

treeplanting3

The Dauphin Island Park & Beach Board has made a commitment to the environmental stewardship of these parklands because the decisions we make today can impact the environment our grandchildren live in. Many of our maintenance practices can be applied to your own living space to create a healthy lawn, garden and home.

Protecting & Restoring a Healthy Parklands

Just as a forest takes a long time to establish, parks must be protected, managed, and restored for many generations. We have established practices and policies that consistently steward parks over the long term.

Cycling Nutrients in a Healthy Parklands

Although we are not as efficient as forest at recycling nutrients, our patrons help us protect the environment by minimizing waste and conserving energy through our recycling programs! Learn more below:

  • Coastal Clean Up

Planning & Preparing Healthy Parklands

Through access to special experiences in beautiful locations, nature and history, and a healthy lifestyle, we provide ways that you can be a part of the Island, not apart from it.

Maintaining Healthy Parklands

Much like a tree must be maintained by watering and feeding, your parks are constantly nurtured to protect the environment and “grow” a great experience for you! Many of our maintenance practices can be applied to your own living space to create a healthy lawn, garden and home.

Cultivating Awareness in a Healthy Parklands

Trees are cultivated as a part of a community, whether it’s a landscape or a forest. We work together with you to cultivate a community more aware of the rich natural resources of the county.
